I wanted to make a quick post about the Failed to Validate Mfg Page 2 error you may run into while flashing a Dell Perc H310 to LSI 9211-8i firmware. For most of the people I’ve talked to that have run into this the cause was that they were trying to flash the LSI firmware without first flashing the Dell 6Gbps SAS HBA firmware.
Make sure you flash the Dell 6Gbps SAS HBA firmware after running the megarec -cleanflash command. Then you should be able to flash the LSI 9211-8i firmware without error.

I’ve been trying to flash a Dell H200 to 9211 IR firmware and after successfully completing the cleanflash command, I cannot write the firmware.
The command I’m trying to send is:
sas2flsh -o -f 2118ir.bin -b mptsas2.rom
I get the mfg page 2 error.

Thank you very much for this tip! It was essential! I almost did quit trying to reflash my H200 to LSI IR Mode (from IT mode). I was so sure it was bricked that I got to ordered an H700.
